Clare Accessible Transport
Clare Accessible Transport is a not for profit company with charitable status established in 2000 by local people who were anxious to address the isolation experienced by people living in rural parts of the county. The service provides flexible and demand responsive public transport throughout Clare operated by easy access low floor minibuses. The service integrates all members of the public, including people with reduced mobility, enabling them to access essential facilities and activities in key locations and to connect with regional and national bus and rail services to destinations outside the operating area. The service has become a lifeline to many and has had a positive impact in supporting rural communities.
The funding from the JP McManus Benevolent Fund will:
- Contribute towards the cost of purchasing a new replacement easy access low floor minibus to continue to provide our integrated and public service model.
